This week, we are:
Math: fluently adding and subtracting within 100 using place value understanding (Base 10, Expanded Form, and Numberline). We did a check-in on Friday. This will be assessed again this Friday. Students can practice strategies at home with math workbooks. Writing: introducing our informational topics and building body of writing with facts and details. Reading: Students Pumpkin book reports are due, Tuesday, 30 October. We are also asking and answering questions with nonfiction texts. This will be assessed again on Friday. Language Arts: Using apostrophes with contractions and possessives. We will spell more r-controlled words with week: learn, girl, turn, heard, twirl, churn, person, dirty, another, perfect Social Studies: describing how Cherokee and Creek American Indians used the land in Georgia. This week, we will build blueprints of American Indian homes with items from nature. Unit of Inquiry: Living things adapt in their environment. Important Information: Tiger Trot Kick-off: Tomorrow afternoon, Teasley students will attend a kick-off for the Tiger Trot! Due to this schedule change, we will have lunch earlier in the day at 10:15-10:45 am. Tiger Trot: Students will participate in a fun run during school on Friday, November 9th! Stay tuned for more information about fundraising and our class team! Donations for DG/Pearls: Our Teasley Distinguished Gentlemen and PEARLS students need your help! They will be assembling care packages to distribute to those in need as a community service project. They are asking for donations of items to include in these care packages. Please consider signing up to donate one or a few of these items. A box in the lobby will be available to collect the donations. Thank you in advance for your support!! Our Student Council is partnering with A+ Pediatric Dentistry of Atlanta again this year to collect candy for Operation Gratitude! Operation Gratitude is a non-profit organization that ships care packages to our troops around the globe. On Thursday and Friday, Nox. 1-2, bring in some of your extra Trick or Treating candy to share with the troops. You can also take your candy to the Candy Buy Back Party at A+ Dentistry on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 4:00-6:00. Holiday Assistance: Do you know someone in need of Holiday Assistance for their children? The MUST toy shop registration is open in our area from October 29-November 3.
