This week, we are: Math: Graphing, skip counting by 5’s, 10’s and 100’s up to 1,000. Beginning this week will compare 3 digit numbers using place value strategies. Writing: planning informational (how-to) writing. Reading: describing how characters respond to events in a story. We are assessing phonics, decoding, and comprehension skills for the end of Quarter 1. Language Arts: decoding and spelling long i vowel patterns: bright, pie, sigh, high, flight, lie, lightning, tighten, tie, right Social Studies: describing how Cherokee and Creek tribes used the rivers in Georgia. Unit of Inquiry: Living things adapt in their environment.
